We want our customers to have the best possible transcription experience while using Voyc. That's why we've compiled a list of important actions you can take to achieve high-quality transcription.
Why does audio quality in Voyc sometimes sound lower than in my telephony system?
The quality of audio playback in Voyc is primarily determined by the quality of the audio exported from your telephony system. If your phone system compresses or reduces audio fidelity when exporting or uploading calls to Voyc, that reduced quality is what we receive and play back; we can only work with what we're given.
On our end, we've minimised any additional quality loss by using the Opus audio format for playback (rather than the more lossy MP3 format that is sometimes used), meaning Voyc itself introduces very little, if any, further degradation. It's also worth noting that transcription is performed on the raw audio we receive, not the playback version, so again, transcription quality ultimately traces back to the source audio from your telephony provider. If you're noticing a significant difference, the first thing to check is whether your phone system is applying compression when exporting calls.
Our infographic highlights common pitfalls that can make it difficult for transcribers to understand audio, resulting in transcription errors. By following the guidelines highlighted in the infographic, you can avoid these issues and focus on more important issues, such as coaching.
